Fontana
De Trevi or Trevi Fountain
The
Trevi Fountain is famous around the world and attracts thousands
of visitors every day at the height of the tourist season. This
towering monument is 26m high with a width of around 20m and boasts
towering horses and Tritons.
The
fountain stands in front of the Palazzo Poli. Water falls of huge
rocks as the Tritans guide Oceanus' chariot to safety. Visitors
throw coins into the water for luck...each coin thrown is to ensure
the visitors return to Rome in the future.
What You Said...
What a magnificent
place to visit. This is not just any old water feature, the fountain
itself is collosal and you cannot help but marvel at the craft and
workmanship that has so clearly gone in to every part of this amazing
sculpture. I found myself marvelling at the faces, expressions...for
hours. I took many photos and thouroughly enjoyed my time here.
I arrived mid morning and when I left an hour or so later it was
very busy, probably best to come as early as possible. Well worth
a visit!

Very Nice! A
beautiful fountain, we visited with children and have to agree with
above, the earlier the better.
